“The enrolments for the studio auction ‘BWP Elite Foal Auction’ on July 5, 2021, are closed since Sunday evening” says Lieve De Greeff who is responsible for the auction events in BWP. The number of foals announced from BWP elite mares and/or BWP performance mare lines amounts to 66 (!) foals. “Both professional breeders and small breeders who breed one or two foals a year enrolled foals and appreciate the initiative” adds Lieve.
The quality comes first!
Lieve ; We wanted to offer an additional auction to breeders with ‘early foals’. Then came also the idea to focus on foals from strong BWP performance mare lines and elite mares. That also means promotion for those lines. We deliberately choose not to select ‘on the paper’ alone. Boudewijn Schepers and Kurt Asselberghs are already touring for 3 weeks now to visit the breeders at their home and select foals on the basis of the foals’ looks, conformation and gaits. The quality comes first!
Attention for the mare lines
Lieve : Our breeders appreciate this initiative. Also the good conditions for the buyers are highly appreciated by the breeders. They are enthusiastic and for them it is also a good occasion to put their breeding line in the picture.
Great names
Lieve : The selections are still going on and a lot of breeders still must be visited, but I can already tell that two foals from the line ‘van ‘t Roosakker’ have been selected. Also the damline of Hello M’Lady (Indoctro) and the damline of For Joy van ‘t Zorgvliet (For Pleasure) send a foal for the auction collection. For Joy van ‘t Zorgvliet jumped at the highest level with the French rider Kevin Staut. Hello M’Lady did the same with the British rider Scott Brash. We will be able to propose a nice group of quality foals from proven performance lines. A unique occasion to acquire the best of BWP.

Already have a look at the BWP Online Foal Auction in October
The already existing BWP Online Foal Auction remains of course and will take place from 1 to 4 October 2021. That auction welcomes jumping and dressage bred foals, BRp foals and Connemara foals. In order to be selected for this auction, the foals have to participate in one of our Breeding Days and get there a score of minimum 75 percent.
