We like to focus once more on the champion mares : not only they had to compete with the other mares of their own age category, but they had also to beat the winning mares of the other series; for that reason, they are worth special attention. The first champion title of the day went to the jumping bred Latina van het Avenhof (Diarado x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve); last year, she already won the youth championship. This black jewel was bred by De Dycker-Laeremans.
The title of jumping bred youth champion mare was for Morena van de Maltahoeve (Elvis ter Putte x Nabab de Reve), bred and presented by Georgette De Backer of the Malta Stud.
Among the dressage bred mares, Funny Dark (Fidertanz x De Niro), presented by Liesbeth Molenberghs, won in her age category and was also crowned champion mare. Miss Dior Van den Bruel was the best of the 3-year old dressage mares and also beated the other winning mares of the youth series and thus became youth champion mare.
Mira van 't Farsenhoven was the best in the free jumping for 3-year old mares. This daughter of I am Moerhoeve's Star out of a mare by Vivaldi du Seigneur, was rewarded with 81 points. She was bred by Dirk and Els Matton-Dekens. By winning this free jumping contest , this mare contributed to the victory of the province of Vlaams-Brabant against the other provinces.
