Excelsior Optimus is expected to have the jumping genes of his sire as well as of his dam Cacacha van het Schaeck who jumps at the highest level with Max Sebbrechts and produced several international jumping horses such as Like a Daimond van het Schaeck.

He is a high-blooded sportive stallion. He was a little restless under the saddle which prevented him from fully displaying his movements and jumping qualities, but he clearly showed his quick reflexes and ample use of his body.

Type :

Exselsior Optimus Z is a sportive stallion with much blood. He has a sufficient rectangular conformation. He has a beautiful front with a well-positioned slightly short neck and an expressive head. The top line is well-shaped. The hindquarter is muscular.

Legs :

The legs are delicate and have much length. The stance of the legs is amply correct. The hoofs are slightly narrow.

Movements :

The walk is sufficient but lacks a little freedom in the shoulder. He trots amply covering and could use his hind leg more. The canter is ground covering and balanced. His walk is a little short and his trot is rhythmical on hard ground.

Free jumping :

He shows much reflex in the free jumping test. The technique of this front and hing legs is good. The use of his body is suffiicent. He was a little more tense during the second day and could show more power.

Riding under test riders :

He is a little restless during the riding under the test riders test. His willingness to work is good but he could cooperate more. The feeling of the mouth is average to good. He lacks over in walk and trot. The canter is good but slightly too much forward.

Jumping under the saddle :

He shows much blood during the jumping under the saddle test. He could jump back slightly more on the jumps. The technique of his front legs and the use of his body are sufficient. He shows ample power.

Evaluation dam : Cacacha van het Schaeck, °2008, 1m71 (issued in 2023)

At the time of the evaluation Cacacha van het Schaeck just finished a recovery period. She has a very good rectangular conformation. She is built uphill and her legs have a good length. The neck has much length and muscle. The withers and shoulders is well-developed. The middle section is long and the loins are strong. The hindquarter is well-muscled. The stance of the legs is correct and the legs are well-developed. The hoofs are good. The walk is ground covering and supple. The trot is sufficient.

This report concerns a evaluation of the stallion during the second and/or third phase of the BWP stallion selection. It is a description of the observations during these moments. Depending on the further development of the stallion some characteristics can change.
