The Grandorado son Urbanus van d’Abelendreef is the half-brother of the internationally jumping stallion Homer van de Barlebuis. It is a impressive stallion with much size and frame. He has a powerful canter. During the tests he shows a lot of willingness to work. His fast reflexes and good power are an obvious assett to the jumping breeding industry.

Type :

Urbanus van d’Abelendreef is a stallion with much size and frame. He has a good rectangular conformation. He has an impressive front with ample length in the neck and ample withers. In the middle section he is slightly deep. The hindquarter is strongly muscled.

Legs :

The legs are amply developed, are lean and have a good length. The feet are a little narrow. The pastern is slightly long. His right front leg is slightly toed out.

Movements :

The walk could be more ground covering. The trot has sufficient cover but lacks some speed with bringing the hind leg forward. The canter is covering and powerful but a little on the front. He moves amply covering on hard ground and with a good impulsion.

Free jumping :

He shows a good attitude during free jumping. He has a ample technique in his front leg. He could bend a little more on the jump. He shows good power.

Riding under test riders :

He has a good willingness to work under the saddle but he lacks some ‘rittigkeit’. The feeling of his mouth is good and he reacts sufficiently to the aids. The walk and trot are suficient to good. The canters is ground covering and well jumped.

Jumping under the saddle  :

He could be easier to work during jumping under the saddle. He has much reflex and take-off at the jump. He jumps with a good leg technique and an ample use of his body. He shows much power.

Evaluation dam : Wichita, °2003, 1m64 (issued in 2023)

Wichita was evaluated at 20 years old and in good health. She is a sportive mare with much blood and a functional and correct conformation with sufficient length. The stance of the legs is correct, light and the legs could have slightly more length. The hoofs could have more size. The mare moves light-footed with ample cover and a good impulsion.
